SVK Erasmus +

 To day we had a autumn celebration in our school. Our entire school gathered to school hall.  Our Erasmus club students gave a presentation about our Erasmus project and our interesting and joyful week with our Erasmus guests. We also gave out the awards of the art competition. The biggest surprise was that our headmasters performed a rock song with the school band. Teachers also played a short story from Seitsemän veljestä (Seven brothers) by Aleksis Kivi.   In between other programs school music group played lovely songs. After the fest we all were delighted and happy to start our autumn holiday.

 To honour our internation guest and to promote our project we organized an art competition. Students of our school prepared posters that encourage to friendships and tolerance and object bullying and hate speech. Our international guest, Erasmus club students selected their favorites. Lovely poster by Fiona Iyare won the competition. Milja Hietalehto, Ellen Helenius, Sofia Korpi and Stiina Tuikkanen were runner ups.

 During our hosting week we collected students thoughts about bullying. Here are the results:

  We went to Helsinki by bus in the morning. In Helsinki we ate lunch and the foreign students bought some souveniers. In the afternoon we went to Suomenlinna which is an Isla nds near Helsinki. We had a guided tour there. Then in the evening we said goodbye, because it was the last time some of us saw each other.

On wednesday we baked some Finnish pastries, karelian pies, gingerbread biscuits and blueberry pie. We also made videos about bullyin situations. We learned a lot about bullying and how to prevent it. On afternoon we ate our self-made pasteries. Everyone also got their participant certificate!

On Tuesday we went to Usmi. There we  paddling, playing games and campfire sausage. We made a campfire and roasted sausages and marshmallows. We also made tea by the campfire. Some of us got some sticks from the forest and we made sausage sticks from them.  There was a little pond near the campfire area, it was a good spot to take photos.    After the first activity we switched with the other group and then we went paddling. Paddling was very fun and a great new experience. In the Usmi cottage we played board games together in smaller groups and ate pizza.
